Taiyi chart

Taiyi describes the changing conditions around a situation. Its host and guest positions compare an established or responding side with an advancing initiative, using a dated board rather than a personality profile.

What this analyses

The selected Tongzong four-count system: year, month, day and hour boards, their nine palaces and sixteen sectors, eyes, counts, generals, gates and active classical configurations. The result explains the actual relationships, counted paths, seasonal offices and positional support. Annual foundations and long cycles appear separately, with their own origins.

When it is useful

For studying how a traditional board frames collective conditions, an existing arrangement and a proposed move. Hour counting examines an immediate situation; the other scales give broader time references. Host and guest roles should be identified before treating a symbol as personally relevant.

What to bring

The city for your situation and the time span you want to examine. Its actual local time is fixed when you first submit, or you may enter a relevant date and time. No knowledge of stems or branches is needed. Optionally note the matter and the two roles. Supplied accumulated counts are available for independently checking an existing board.

Look at the conditions around a situation

Choose the city where the situation is being considered. Its local time anchors this chart and is kept through sign-in, saving and retry.

Identify the two sides, if relevant

In an encounter, the side approaching first is guest and the responding side is host. Within an established arrangement, the traditional convention calls the first mover host. Name the roles for your setting; blank roles remain unassigned.

These notes identify your intended roles. The tool does not infer a person’s role or hidden intentions from a name or question.

Check an existing accumulated count

A supplied board is labelled separately. Its dated season remains context and is not silently applied as a dated-board judgement.

Using your result

Begin with the host and guest eyes, then check the count paths, general positions and active constraints. A favourable relationship can coexist with a closed gate or confined general. Relate that combination to facts you can verify before deciding how to act.

The real nine-palace chart, host and guest positions and a useful summary are available without signing in. A free account saves this exact board, moment and role notes to your private history and opens the complete single-method interpretation and sources. Editing an input clears the previous result before another chart can be saved. Sign-in and retries retain the original time; no trial or question allowance is used.

This is a cultural interpretation, not a factual prediction of conflict, weather, health or another person’s intentions. The adopted four-count system does not silently mix separate Taiyi life charts, modern minute counts or another book’s accumulation.
